Chainlift began as a solo agency in 2020 providing custom web development services to small businesses. After the initial success of LiftKit in 2024, it quickly expanded into an international collective supporting some of the fastest-growing companies in the world. Today, Chainlift has expanded its service offerings to match its increased focused on education and custom developer tools.
Garrett moved to San Francisco with nothing but an English degree and enough cash for 1 month of rent, dreaming of a career in tech. Over the next five years, he taught himself to design, animate, and code, working as a freelance consultant under the business name Chainlift.
In 2024, Garrett released the first version of LiftKit with a YouTube video showcasing its unique spacing system (Watch Here). The video soon went viral, racking up nearly 500,000 views within a few weeks. Requests for a more robust version of the framework started pouring in.
Today, Garrett remains committed to making beautiful design easier to achieve without sacrificing the creator's agency. With the support of collaborators all over the world, he continues work on the LiftKit system
When the very first LiftKit spacing video went viral, Jeremiah reached out offering to help build a Tailwind plugin. He provided critical feedback to the initial release and helped Garrett—who had not expected LiftKit to gain so much attention so quickly—get acclimated with the landscape of open source development.
Over the next few months, his back-end expertise proved invaluable as he co-developed the LiftKit CLI, integrated the component registry, and tackled countless architectural challenges to keep our tooling robust and scalable.
Beyond LiftKit, Jeremiah is passionate about crafting elegant solutions across the full stack—when he’s not refining our platform, he’s busy on personal projects such as Regula-nix, always pushing the boundaries of what clean, maintainable code can achieve.
Chainlift's mission is to make beautiful design accessible, not a luxury.
Our long-term vision of Chainlift is to be the Bauhaus of UX Design. Not just an agency, but a school of thought, dedicated to making quality design accessible to everyone. We believe we can scale to the necessary size and influence to achieve this goal within 5 years.
Recruit the initial team of collaborators necessary to continue consulting services while also building LiftKit.
Raising awareness, developing client relationships, building out LiftKit, and collecting user feedback.
Reinvest significant portions of our profits into public learning materials, open-source projects, and any initiatives that help bridge the tech gap.
As our content library grows, so too will the agency, allowing us to eventually open full-time entry level positions, create a proper training academy, take on larger clients, and produce even more public resources.
Continue operating at a sustainable size that allows us to preserve our company values and continue fulfilling our mission statement.
